how iBeacons work

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

iBeacons are small bluetooth (BLE) transmitters, which broadcast a very specific signal. Each signal corresponds to a particular mobile app.

When the app comes into contact with an iBeacon, it triggers a predetermined action.

By knowing where iBeacons are located, the app can display rich, dynamic and hyper-contextual content. It can also indicate proximity to a service or product.

Placing iBeacons in set locations, builds logical mobile interactions. Personal data stored in the app, is used to customise the content delivery.

iBeacons can be battery powered but we've developed mains variants, which offer better durability and enhanced in-app features.
